Like a good coffee while at a backcountry hut, camping on…
Kai Carrier’s at Whariwharangi.
The great range of Kai Carrier Pouches and Bags which you can use anywhere, anytime, save your family money and reduce the carbon footprint. On a recent trip to Whariwharangi, Abel Tasman we took along some Kai Carrier Pouches and bags filled with various foods and drink and they served their purpose very well.
So for this trip we decanted a couple of tins of yummy Irish stew into a 800ml pouch for dinner, a pot of yummy custard into a 300ml pouch and a bottle of Pinot Gris into a 800ml pouch.
When filled with liquid I would store upright in your pack but we had no liquid leak during our two day hike using the Kai Carriers. To fill with liquid I found keeping the zip lock top closed and filling with a funnel (funnels in store) through the side spout an easy operation.
Not only are they great for food options, including soups, yoghurt, smoothies, sandwiches, Salads (larger Storage Bags) they can be used for anything that needs to be stored.
We also put scroggin in the snack packs to keep handy in our hipbelt pockts for snacking along the way. You could put crackers, raisins, beef jerky, anything you like to nibble on when on the go.
Kai Carriers would be Great for bike rides, camping, picnics, hiking, travelling, just about anything outdoors, they pack flat when empty so take up minimal space when carrying out and are very durable.
Also to note they are dishwasher safe, although I recommend washing them out with a scrubbing brush, freezer safe and Microwavable.
They certainly helped us have a more enjoyable dining experiance on the trail, a few luxuries (wine and custard) just added to what was a great adventure!
