For all aluminium poles, we rely on a special eco-duralumin alloy. No toxic sulfur hexafluoride and sulfur dioxide have been used. Both these materials are classified as materials causing the destruction of the ozone layer, which is one of the reasons for global warming. We use TRX Airlite poles in our tents and chairs, which are made of Hi-strength Eco Duralumin alloy.
GORLYN FABRIC & SILICONIZED COATING
Our Gorlyn fabrics are constructed using high-tenacity Ripstop Nylon 6.6, which has a higher tensile strength than regular and most used Nylon in tent construction. BACH Gorlyn fabric is four to five times stronger than most of the other high-end lightweight fabrics used for tents.
For our Gorlyn tent fabric we use siliconized coating. We apply one base layer on the back side and one layer on the front side. This results in the most durable and water-repellent protection. Although this is the most expensive treatment for tent fabric, the silicone coating is a deliberate decision as this process does not affect fabric strength, because of the higher melting point of 6.6 Nylon. Normal, cheaper PU coatings (usually used for the inner side of the outer tent fabric) tend to reduce the tear strength by up to 70%, which weakens the fabrics too much to use them in lightweight tent designs.
This combination of materials makes Gorlyn an excellent choice as a durable, yet lightweight tent fabric with impressive tear resistance.
