Product Review: Primus Lite Plus
The Primus Lite Plus (former Eta Lite). We took this stove to Flora hut with our three girls. The weather was cold, (snow on the tops some passing doc workers informed us) and lots of hot drinks were needed. Being capable of boiling two cups in under 3 minutes meant having hot chocolates for the girls was easy work and if your a cup short the Lid doubles as a good size cup to save the day!
The Built in heat exchanger and windscreen meant cooking in a breeze isn’t a problem and removing the pot from the burner with it’s insulated sleeve and triangular connection is easy to do. Added extras are a foot support that fits 100g and 230g gas canisiters and a suspending cord to hang the stove should you be in snow conditions.
The fuel efficiency of this stove is brillant. Primus claims 59mins from a 100g gas canister. Well we used the same canister we took on a day trip, made several hot drinks, cooked dinner and porridge for 5 the next morning and there’s still alot left.
Also worth knowing is on the bottom of the webb handle (see pic below) there are three small pins that you can screw into the stove top should you want too use a frying pan or other pots.
Gas bottle (100g) and stove fit nicely inside pot and web handle locks it all together. Designed for the the solo hiker as a all-in-one kit this stove certainly proved itself with its speed, efficiency and saftey that we only used the “other stove” once all weekend.
Great work Primus. For more info please watch video below.
